What's Meetup?

Maybe it's time for a little less face-to-screen and a little more face-to-face.

What's a Meetup Group?

Meetup Groups are today's support groups, parent playgroups, citizen groups, fitness groups, book clubs, professional groups, and other powerful local groups!

  •  I'm surprised!!! You are so bright and you havent figured this out yet. I'm recruiting new people that want to ride and join my splinter group.

  •  Hi, I didn't get your message until now, Sat morning 11:30. I'll see if I can maneuver around the site and find
your name, etc. I have students and then have to go to the vet for my new puppy. Wow, it's like having a
baby at my age (50's) and it's tough but fun! I'll try later this afternoon and if you're on, we'll talk!

  •  I was a programmer for 20 years on PC's so I didn't know much about Macs either but decided to get one at
Christmas time so I'm really on a learning curve. They are pretty easy to use but it is frustrating that a lot
of software isn't compatible. I finally got a Beta version of PalTalk that is Mac friendly so you'll have to let me know the next time you are going to use it.

  •  Hi Mark,
I have a MacBook and wasn't able to download the PalTalk application. Have any ideas?
    Thanks, Barbara

  •  Hi Mark, I have never used the Pal Talk so it might help if you give me a few pointers.
    Thanks,
    Barbara

  •  My laptop is giving me grief; so be patient. Will post the photo as soon as possible!

  •  I've been looking at that photo with Deb in it and actually I think this is the Katella bridge looking north north east up the river. Taft does not have a lot of tall trees like that on the right behind the bridge, and that chain link fence in the left foreground looks like the area just south of Katella. The Anaheim Pond would be off camera on the left. the rest area is on the right behind the bridge where all the trees are.

  •  Hi Mark.........not sure which bridge that is. Gene took the photo sometime last year when we were riding together.

  •  Hi Mark, Yeah... Historical Societies, like any volunteer group, can be prone to a lot of self absorption and being spectators rather than do-ers... but there are a handful of people at BPHS who want to see new things accomplished, and the Dreger Clock project is moving along. I figured than that links would not work in this format, but figured you can copy paste the address. BPHS's website is historicalsociety.org . I assume that the dregerclock.org site worked for you once you got there right?

  •  hi Mark, I am also a Garden Grove resident, a new bike riding enthusiast ( a new one who commutes to work on the bike a few days per week) and I see you are involved in the "The Garden Grove Historical Preservation Group". I am involved with the Buena Park Historical Society because they are helping me preserve my Great-grandpa's old clock from Knott's ... see dregerclock.org
